Adiantum fimbriatum, also known as the fringed maidenhair fern, is a small fern native to temperate regions of China, including Hebei, Shaanxi, Sichuan, and Yunnan. It grows at elevations of 2,700 to 3,600 meters in shaded, rocky environments like forest floors and cliff crevices. This fern is perfect for terrariums due to its preference for high humidity and bright, indirect light. With its delicate, frilled fronds and reddish stipes, it adds elegance to any indoor space or plant collection.
Care Tips:
-
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent scorching the fronds.
-
Soil: Thrives in well-draining, humus-rich soil, with a peat-based mix being ideal.
-
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
-
Temperature: Best grown in temperatures between 18°C and 24°C.
-
Humidity: Requires high humidity, making it ideal for terrariums. Misting or a humidity tray can help maintain moisture levels.
