Care Tips for Begonia Knowing:
-
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the dark leaves. -
Watering:
Keep the soil lightly moist but never soggy. Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid water on the leaves to prevent spotting. -
Humidity:
Thrives in high humidity (50–70%). Use a pebble tray or humidifier if the air is dry. -
Temperature:
Ideal range is 18–26°C. Keep away from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes. -
Soil:
Use a well-draining, airy mix—such as peat + perlite + a bit of orchid bark—to prevent root rot. -
Fertilizer:
Feed with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer every 3–4 weeks during the growing season (spring & summer). Reduce feeding in winter. -
Pruning:
Remove yellowing or damaged leaves to encourage healthy new growth and maintain shape. -
Potting:
Repot every 1–2 years in spring when roots start filling the pot, using fresh well-draining soil.
