Care Tips:

Light

  • Ideal Light: Bright, indirect light for 6–8 hours daily.

  • Placement: Position near an east-facing window or within 3 feet of a south-facing window.

  • Note: Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.

Temperature

  • Optimal Range: 65–75°F (18–24°C) during the day; slightly cooler at night.

  • Avoid: Temperatures below 60°F (15°C) or above 80°F (27°C), as they can cause stress.

  • Protection: Keep away from drafts and direct heat sources.

Watering

  • Frequency: Water when the top inch of soil feels dry.

  • Method: Water at the base to prevent wetting the foliage, which can lead to fungal issues.

  • Signs: Yellowing leaves may indicate overwatering; wilting or crispy leaf edges suggest underwatering.

Humidity

  • Ideal Level: 50–70% humidity.

  • Symptoms of Low Humidity: Brown leaf tips and wilting.

  • Boosting Humidity: Use a humidifier, place the pot on a tray with pebbles and water, or group plants together.

Soil

  • Type: Well-draining, organic-rich potting mix with a pH between 6.0 and 6.5.

  • DIY Mix: Combine all-purpose potting soil, perlite or vermiculite, sphagnum peat moss or coco coir, and compost in a 3:2:1:1 ratio.

  • Maintenance: Regularly check soil moisture and texture; amend with perlite or coarse sand if compacted.

Fertilization

  • Schedule: Fertilize every 4–6 weeks during the growing season with a balanced NPK fertilizer (10–10–10).

  • Repotting: Repot when the plant doubles in size or annually to refresh the soil and nutrients.

Pruning & Maintenance

  • Pruning: Remove dead or damaged leaves to encourage bushier growth and improve air circulation.

  • Deadheading: Remove spent flowers to maintain the plant's health and appearance.

  • Pest Management: Regularly check for pests like aphids, spider mites, and mealybugs; use organic insecticides or neem oil if necessary.
