Begonia pteridiformis

Begonia pteridiformis is a rare tropical begonia species endemic to southern Thailand, particularly in the wet limestone regions of the peninsula’s evergreen forests. Its leaves are narrow and lance-shaped, green with serrated edges, and arranged symmetrically along the stems, giving the plant a distinctive fern-like appearance.

Care Tips:

• Light:

  • Bright, indirect light; avoid direct sunlight.

  • Can tolerate lower light, but growth may slow.

• Temperature:

  • Ideal range: 20–25 °C (68–77 °F).

  • Protect from temperatures below 15 °C (59 °F) and cold drafts.

• Humidity:

  • Prefers high humidity (80%+).

  • Suitable for terrariums, glass containers, or humid rooms.

• Watering:

  • Keep soil evenly moist, but not waterlogged.

  • Water when the top 1–2 cm of soil feels dry.

  • Use filtered or rainwater if tap water is hard or chlorinated.
