Begonia sp. Aurora is a small-sized Begonia native to Aurora Province on Luzon Island, the Philippines. It features sharply serrated leaves with a green base color densely splashed with pink spots, while the leaf margins are also highlighted in pink, giving the plant a vivid and eye-catching appearance.
Care Tips:
-
Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves and fade the pink markings.
-
Water: Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Water when the top layer begins to dry; avoid letting the plant sit in water.
-
Humidity: Prefers high humidity. Ideal for terrariums or humid environments.
-
Temperature: Warm conditions are best, around 18–28 °C. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature drops.
-
Soil: A well-draining, airy mix (e.g. coco peat or peat moss with perlite and bark).
-
Airflow: Gentle air circulation helps prevent fungal issues, especially in high humidity.
-
Fertilizer: Light feeding during active growth with a diluted balanced fertilizer.
