This species was formally described in 2021 and is renowned for its unique floral characteristics and delicate appearance.

Features:

• Leaves: The plant features leathery, linear-oblong leaves that are erect to suberect, semi-flexible to rigid, and range from 1.6 to 8 cm in length.

• Flowers: Bulbophyllum retusum produces striking flowers with a curved lip and sepals that often display various colorations, adding to its ornamental appeal.

• Growth Habit: It exhibits a creeping rhizome with spaced pseudobulbs, each bearing a single leaf. The plant's compact size and unique structure make it a fascinating addition to any orchid collection.
