Calymmodon asiaticus, native to Asia, is a rare and small epiphytic fern from the Polypodiaceae family and Calymmodon genus. The fern's leaves are pinnately divided, and the upper leaves bear spores, which are enclosed within the leaf itself, creating a unique "pouch" structure for the spores. The leaves are exceptionally small, typically not exceeding 6 cm, making it ideal for rainforest terrariums and personal ornamental cultivation.
This species commonly grows on rocks along stream banks, where it faces a dry period in winter, causing the plant to wilt and droop. However, it can tolerate occasional drought without affecting its survival, though it requires specific temperature conditions.
Light: Indirect, scattered light
Temperature: 5-28°C (not tolerant of high temperatures)
Humidity: 100%
Soil: River sand mixed with akadama soil
Perfect for rainforest landscaping and fern enthusiasts, Calymmodon asiaticus is an easy-to-care-for plant that thrives in the right conditions, providing an interesting and rare addition to any collection.
