Care Tips:
-
Light: Provide bright light with some gentle morning sunlight. Avoid intense midday sun that can scorch the leaves. Adequate light is essential for flowering.
-
Watering: Water thoroughly during active growth, then allow the growing medium to dry before watering again. Avoid keeping the roots constantly wet.
-
Growing Medium: Use a coarse, well-draining orchid mix containing medium-grade bark, perlite and charcoal. Ensure excellent drainage and root aeration.
-
Humidity: Maintain approximately 40–70% humidity with good air circulation.
-
Temperature: Intermediate to warm conditions are suitable. Aim for around 21–29°C (70–85°F) during the day and 13–22°C (55–72°F) at night.
-
Airflow: Provide continuous, gentle airflow, especially in warm and humid conditions.
-
Fertilizing: Apply a diluted balanced orchid fertilizer during active growth. Flush the medium periodically to prevent fertilizer-salt buildup.
-
Repotting: Repot when the medium begins to break down or when new roots start to emerge. Avoid disturbing the roots unnecessarily.
-
Seasonal Care: Reduce watering and feeding when growth slows, adjusting to the drying rate of the medium. Do not leave the plant completely dehydrated for long periods.
-
Flowering: Bright light, mature pseudobulbs and a moderate day-to-night temperature difference help support flowering.
