It thrives in humid, tropical environments at elevations ranging from 150 to 1,000 meters above sea level. It is characterized by its four-angled pseudobulbs and produces clusters of pendulous flowers, typically blooming in spring.

• Stems: The plant features clavate or fusiform, four-angled stems adorned with 2 to 4 coriaceous, ovate-lanceolate leaves near the apex.

• Flowers: In spring, it produces long, 8-inch pendent, densely flowered, cylindrical racemes from the nodes near the apex of both leafed and leafless canes.

• Blooming Period: Typically blooms in spring, with flowers lasting 2–3 weeks under optimal care.
