Dendrobium subuliferum is a miniature orchid species native to New Guinea. This species thrives as an epiphyte in primary and secondary forests at elevations ranging from 300 to 2,000 meters. It is characterized by its compact size, with plants reaching up to 3 cm in height, and its distinctive white flowers with a purple-tinged lip.

Care Tips:

  • Light: Provide bright, indirect light with a light intensity of 20,000–30,000 lux.

  • Temperature: Maintain daytime temperatures between 26–28°C and nighttime temperatures around 15–17°C, ensuring a diurnal temperature variation of 10–13°C.

  • Humidity: Keep humidity levels between 70–75% year-round.

  • Watering: Water regularly, allowing the plant to dry slightly between waterings. In winter, reduce watering slightly but never allow the plant to dry out completely.

  • Substrate: Grow in live sphagnum moss over bark or on tree rootstocks, especially in high-humidity environments.

  • Fertilization: Apply a balanced fertilizer at half strength every one to two weeks throughout the year.

  • Rest Period: During winter, slightly reduce watering and fertilization, but avoid allowing the plant to dry out completely.
