Hoya curtisii ‘Silver’ is a compact, trailing variety distinguished by its very small, teardrop- to heart-shaped leaves that are almost entirely silver, displaying broader and more intense silver-grey mottling than the standard form. It forms a dense, trailing mat ideal for hanging baskets or shallow planters, and although petite, it can produce clusters of star-shaped, pale pink or white flowers.
Care Tips:
-
Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Too little light may dull the silver effect; avoid harsh direct sun.
-
Watering: Allow the potting mix to dry slightly between waterings — this plant doesn’t like to stay soggy.
-
Soil/Substrate: Use a well-draining, airy mix (such as bark + perlite + some peat) to mimic its epiphytic origins.
-
Temperature & Humidity: Prefers warm, humid conditions, but is relatively adaptable indoors.
-
Display: Hanging baskets or shallow pots work great so its trailing stems can drape well.
