Hoya obovata ‘Splash’ is a striking tropical houseplant admired for its thick, round green leaves decorated with natural silvery speckles — a “splash” effect that gives the foliage a soft, shimmering look. Native to Southeast Asia, this vining epiphyte is easy to care for and makes an excellent trailing or hanging plant indoors.
Features:
-
Thick, glossy, circular leaves with scattered silver-white splashes.
-
Mature plants produce clusters of pink-white, star-shaped flowers with a sweet fragrance.
-
A strong, slow-to-moderate grower with vines that can trail beautifully over time.
Care Tips:
-
Light: Provide bright, indirect light.
-
Watering: Allow the soil to dry out partially between waterings. Avoid allowing the medium to stay soggy.
-
Soil/Medium: Use a well-draining, airy substrate (for example, orchid bark + perlite) to mimic its epiphytic nature.
-
Temperature & Humidity: Prefers warm indoor temperatures (about 60-85°F / ~15-29°C) and moderate to high humidity.
-
Display: Because it trails/climbs, consider hanging or mounting it where its splash leaves will be visible and appreciated.
