Hoya serpens is a miniature, trailing or creeping hoya species native to the Himalayas, particularly Nepal, Sikkim, and Bhutan. In its natural habitat, it grows as an epiphyte in cool, moist montane forests at elevations between 1,200 and 2,400 meters, often clinging to moss-covered trees in cloud forest environments.

Features:

  • Tiny, rounded leaves – Covered with soft pubescence for a delicate texture

  • Pale green blooms with pink centers – Lightly fragrant, adding subtle charm

  • Trailing or creeping, compact growth – Perfect for baskets, mounts, or terrariums

Care Tips:
  • Light: Bright, indirect light; avoid harsh direct sun

  • Water: Keep lightly moist; let top layer dry between watering

  • Temperature: 60–86°F (15–30°C); avoid below 50°F (10°C)

  • Humidity: High (60–90%); mist or use a humidity tray if needed

  • Soil: Well-draining mix with orchid bark, perlite, or coco husk

  • Fertilizer: Low-nitrogen fertilizer during growing season; avoid dormancy

  • Blooming: Needs stable light and humidity; flowers are lightly fragrant

  • Maintenance: Prune dead leaves; repot every 1–2 years if needed
