Hoya Serpens Silver is a cultivar/variant of Hoya serpens distinguished by its more pronounced silver-variegation or “high silver” leaves. It retains the miniature, trailing habit of the species, with very small round, fuzzy leaves that may appear nearly or completely silver under favorable light.
Care Tips:
-
Light: Bright, indirect light helps bring out the silver variegation. Avoid harsh direct sun which can burn leaves.
-
Temperature: Moderate / cool-tropical; typically between 70-75°F (~21-24°C) during the day, and avoid extreme heat.
-
Humidity: Prefer higher humidity (around 60-65% or more) to keep leaves healthy and variegation vivid.
-
Watering: Keep soil or substrate lightly moist; do not allow it to fully dry out for long. But ensure good drainage to avoid root rot.
-
Substrate / Soil Mix: Use a well-draining, airy mix (epiphytic style or chunky mix) so water doesn’t stagnate.
-
General Care Advice: Be gentle with silver specimens—they can be more sensitive to stress (light, moisture swings). Watching for limp or flexible leaves indicates thirst.
