Hoya sigillatis inner variegated is a rare trailing epiphyte native to Borneo. Its elongated olive-green leaves display a silver splash pattern on the surface with cream or yellow inner variegation framed by darker green margins, creating a striking contrast. Under bright light, the foliage may develop subtle pink, reddish, or burgundy hues, enhancing its visual appeal. Clusters of small, caramel-orange, waxy flowers emit a strong, sweet fragrance, making this variety highly prized among collectors for both its foliage and aromatic blooms.
Care Tips:
-
Light:
Bright, indirect light is ideal. A few hours of gentle morning sun can enhance the silver splash and inner cream/yellow variegation. Avoid harsh midday sun to prevent leaf burn. -
Watering:
Allow the topsoil to dry slightly between waterings. Water thoroughly but avoid letting the plant sit in soggy soil. Reduce watering in cooler months. -
Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity (60–85%). Occasional misting or a humidifier helps maintain healthy foliage. -
Temperature:
Best range: 18–30°C (65–86°F). Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C (59°F). -
Soil / Medium:
Use a well-draining, airy mix (orchid bark, perlite, coco coir). Good aeration helps prevent root rot. -
Fertilizer:
Feed monthly during the growing season with a diluted balanced fertilizer. Pause in winter. -
Propagation:
Propagate via stem cuttings with at least one node. Keep warm and humid to encourage rooting. -
Special Notes:
Variegated areas are more sensitive: avoid direct harsh sunlight, prolonged drought, or cold stress. Insufficient light may cause fading of the cream/yellow inner variegation.
