Hoya Sigillatis Silver is a stunning trailing epiphyte native to Borneo, known for its distinctive oval-shaped leaves that are almost entirely silver with just faint touches of green. The leaves are covered with a fine layer of soft hairs, giving them a velvety texture and subtle sheen.
Care Tips:
-
Light: Bright, indirect light helps maintain the silvery leaf color. Avoid direct harsh sun to prevent leaf burn.
-
Watering: Allow the top layer of soil to dry between waterings; do not let it stay soggy. Reduce watering in winter.
-
Humidity: Prefers medium to high humidity (60%+). Occasional misting helps maintain leaf texture.
-
Temperature: 18–27°C (65–80°F); protect from cold drafts or temperatures below 15°C (59°F).
-
Soil: Use a well-draining mix—orchid bark, perlite, and a bit of coco coir or peat work well.
-
Fertilizer: Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted fertilizer.
-
Growth Habit: Trailing epiphyte; ideal for hanging baskets or climbing supports.
-
Propagation: Easily propagated from stem cuttings with at least one node.
