Hoya spectatissima is a lithophytic climber that naturally grows on rocks, particularly in limestone karst habitats. First described in 2023, its name means “most spectacular,” referring to its highly attractive flowers. The plant features small succulent leaves measuring about 2–4.5 cm in length and produces rounded clusters of pale pink star-shaped flowers with ivory-white centers, giving it a delicate and ornamental appearance.

Care Tips:

  • Light – Provide bright, indirect light. Avoid strong direct midday sun, which may scorch the succulent leaves.

  • Water – Allow the growing medium to dry slightly between waterings. Do not let the roots sit in waterlogged soil.

  • Humidity – Moderate to high humidity (around 60% or higher) helps support healthy growth and flowering.

  • Temperature – Keep warm conditions, ideally between 18–28 °C. Protect the plant from cold drafts.

  • Soil / Medium – Use a very well-draining, airy mix such as orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir.

  • Fertilizer – Apply a diluted balanced fertilizer once every 2–4 weeks during the growing season.

  • Support – Provide a small trellis or hanging space since it is a climbing vine.

  • Flowering Tip – Stable light and proper watering stress balance can help encourage blooming.
