Hoya yingjiangensis

Hoya yingjiangensis is a rare and distinctive species described from Yunnan, China. It is particularly notable for its large, bell-shaped (campanulate) flowers, an unusual feature within the genus. Unlike many Hoyas that produce rounded clusters of flowers, H. yingjiangensis typically produces a single flower on each annual, deciduous peduncle, giving it a very unusual and elegant appearance.

Care Tips:

• Provide bright, filtered light with some gentle morning or late-afternoon sun.
• Use a very airy, well-draining substrate such as orchid bark, perlite, and a small amount of coco-based material.
• Water thoroughly when the upper portion of the substrate has begun to dry, avoiding prolonged waterlogged conditions.
• Maintain moderate to high humidity, ideally around 60–80%, with good air circulation.
• Keep temperatures intermediate to warm, while avoiding prolonged exposure to cold conditions.
• Provide a trellis or climbing support for the twining stems.
• Fertilize lightly with a balanced fertilizer during active growth, reducing feeding during cooler or slower periods.
• Avoid disturbing the annual deciduous peduncles, as the species' unusual flowering habit is an important characteristic of H. yingjiangensis.
