Nephelaphyllum tenuiflorum

Nephelaphyllum tenuiflorum is a small terrestrial orchid in the family Orchidaceae. It is broadly distributed across tropical Asia, including southern China (Hong Kong, Hainan, Guangdong), Indochina (Vietnam, Thailand), and islands of Malesia (Malaysia, Indonesia). It typically grows in forested habitats at elevations from about 500 to 1,700 meters.

Features:

• Rhizomatous habit with fleshy rhizomes wrapped in membranous sheaths

• Single terminal leaf per pseudobulb, ovate to cordate in shape, slightly fleshy

• Inflorescences bearing 1–3 green flowers with purple stripes; flowers about 1 cm in size

• Lip (labellum) with a basal spur, hairy disc, and fimbriate (fringed) appendage near the tip

• Flowering season in June–July (in its natural habitat)
