Care Tips:
-
Light: Provide bright, filtered light. Avoid harsh direct midday sunlight.
-
Watering: Keep the growing medium evenly moist but not waterlogged. Avoid prolonged drying.
-
Growing Medium: Use a moisture-retentive but well-draining Paphiopedilum mix containing fine bark, perlite and sphagnum moss.
-
Humidity: Maintain around 60–80% humidity with good air circulation.
-
Temperature: Intermediate to warm conditions are suitable, approximately 20–30°C (68–86°F) during the day, with somewhat cooler nights.
-
Fertilizing: Apply a diluted, balanced orchid fertilizer during active growth. Flush the medium periodically to prevent salt buildup.
-
Airflow: Provide gentle, continuous airflow, particularly in warm, humid conditions.
-
Potting: Use a well-draining pot with enough room for the roots to develop.
-
Repotting: Repot when the medium begins to break down, preferably when new roots are emerging.
-
Flowering: Consistent moisture, adequate filtered light and healthy mature growth help support flowering.
