Paphiopedilum Hsinying Anita is a complex multifloral slipper orchid hybrid registered in 2009 by Ching Hua, created from Paphiopedilum Lady Isabel crossed with Paphiopedilum anitum. Because Lady Isabel already contains rothschildianum and stonei genetics, this hybrid carries a strong multifloral background and often produces tall inflorescences with several large, elegant flowers. The blooms typically show long, slightly twisted petals with green, brown, and reddish striping, and a broad dorsal sepal with bold patterning. Overall, it is a vigorous modern hybrid that blends the dramatic structure of rothschildianum-type orchids with improved adaptability from adductum-type influence.
Features:
- Complex hybrid: Lady Isabel × anitum (with underlying rothschildianum and stonei ancestry)
- Multifloral habit: typically multiple flowers per spike in mature plants
- Long, narrow, slightly twisted petals with striped green/brown/red coloration
- Strong, upright inflorescence with good floral spacing
- Broad dorsal sepal with bold venation and contrast
- Medium to large plant with strap-shaped green leaves
Care Tips:
- Light: Bright, filtered light (similar to other multifloral Paphiopedilum hybrids)
- Temperature: Intermediate to warm conditions with mild night drop
- Watering: Keep evenly moist; avoid drying out completely
- Humidity: Moderate to high (around 60–80%)
- Potting: Very airy mix (bark + perlite; limestone chips often helpful)
- Airflow: Strong airflow to prevent rot and support healthy spikes
- Feeding: Regular weak fertilizer during active growth
- Growth note: Benefits from stable conditions and consistent moisture
