Paphiopedilum Memoria Joan Levy is a modern primary hybrid registered in 2013, created by crossing Paphiopedilum stonei with Paphiopedilum gigantifolium. As both parents belong to the multifloral Polyantha group, this hybrid inherits a strong tendency to produce tall inflorescences carrying multiple elegant flowers with long, narrow, often slightly twisted petals. The blooms typically display refined striping in green, brown, and reddish tones, combined with a broad dorsal sepal that may show contrasting linear patterns. Compared to heavier rothschildianum-type hybrids, this grex often appears more graceful and elongated, reflecting the influence of gigantifolium, while retaining the structure and patterning of stonei. It is a slow-growing but highly collectible hybrid valued for its elegant form and strong breeding potential.
