Paphiopedilum Primcolor

Paphiopedilum Primcolor is a primary hybrid between Paphiopedilum primulinum × Paphiopedilum concolor. It is a classic sequential-flowering Paphiopedilum hybrid and is well known for its long-lasting yellow to green flowers.

Care Tips:

• Light: Provide low to moderate, filtered light. Avoid strong direct sunlight, especially around midday.
• Watering: Keep the potting medium evenly moist but not waterlogged. Avoid allowing the plant to remain completely dry for extended periods.
• Growing Medium: Use an airy, well-draining Paphiopedilum mix with fine or medium bark, perlite and a moisture-retentive component such as sphagnum.
• Humidity: Maintain moderate to high humidity, ideally around 60–80%, with good air circulation.
• Temperature: Intermediate to warm conditions are suitable, approximately 18–29°C (65–85°F) during the day, with slightly cooler nights.
• Fertilizing: Apply a diluted balanced orchid fertilizer during active growth. Flush the medium regularly to prevent fertilizer salt accumulation.
• Airflow: Provide gentle, continuous airflow, particularly in warm and humid conditions.
• Potting: Use a relatively small pot with good drainage. Avoid oversized pots that stay wet for too long.
• Repotting: Repot when the medium begins to decompose or when new roots are developing. Handle the roots carefully.
• Flowering: The most attractive feature of Primcolor is its sequential flowering habit. Maintain stable moisture, suitable light and regular nutrition to encourage continuous flowering.
