Paphiopedilum stonei is a large, multifloral slipper orchid species native to Borneo, particularly Sarawak, where it grows on limestone slopes in warm, humid forests. It produces tall inflorescences bearing several flowers, each with long, narrow, often slightly twisted petals marked in brown and green tones, contrasted by a broad white dorsal sepal with dark linear striping. The pouch is typically pinkish to brown-veined, adding to its intricate and elegant appearance. The plant itself has long, strap-like, glossy green leaves and a robust growth habit. Known for its slow development, it may take many years to reach flowering size, but once mature, it produces striking and refined blooms that are highly valued among collectors.
