Procatavola Wufong Jade is an orchid hybrid belonging to the Procatavola genus (often abbreviated as Pcv.), and it is a cross between Cattleychea Siam Jade and Brassavola nodosa.

Features:

  • Flowers are typically chartreuse to lime-green with a white lip and may show pink or lavender tones at the center.

  • Blooms are often fragrant and sized around 7–12 cm across.

  • It combines characteristics of both Cattleya-like and Brassavola-type orchids.

Care Tips:

  • Light

    • Provide bright, indirect light.

    • Morning sun or light filtered through a sheer curtain is ideal.

    • Some direct sunlight is acceptable, but avoid strong midday sun to prevent leaf burn.

    • Healthy leaves should be light green; very dark green may indicate too little light, yellowish may indicate too much.

  • Watering

    • Water thoroughly when the potting medium is nearly dry.

    • Allow roots/media to dry somewhat between waterings to avoid root rot.

    • Reduce watering during cooler seasons when growth slows.

  • Temperature

    • Keep in a warm range: daytime ~70–80 °F (21–27 °C), night ~55–60 °F (13–16 °C).

    • A gentle night-to-day temperature drop helps promote blooming.

  • Humidity & Airflow

    • Maintain moderate to high humidity (~50–70%).

    • Ensure good air circulation to reduce fungal or bacterial problems.

  • Potting Medium

    • Use a well-draining orchid mix (e.g., bark, charcoal, perlite).

    • Avoid dense or soggy media; orchids prefer airy root conditions.

  • Fertilizer

    • Feed diluted orchid fertilizer during active growth (weekly at quarter strength recommended).

    • Occasionally flush the medium to avoid mineral buildup.

  • Repotting & Maintenance

    • Repot every 1–2 years or when the medium breaks down or roots fill the pot.

    • Best to repot after flowering or when new growth appears.
