Pternopetalum trichomanifolium is a delicate fern native to China, belonging to the Apiaceae family and the Pternopetalum genus. This fern is found in shaded, moist environments across regions such as Guangxi, Hunan, Yunnan, Sichuan, and Jiangxi, typically at elevations between 680 to 2,400 meters. Thriving in humid conditions, it grows on rocks or tree trunks in tropical rainforests, making it ideal for cultivation in terrariums or humid indoor spaces where high humidity and consistent moisture are maintained.
Care Tips:
-
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn.
-
Humidity: Requires high humidity levels, ideally above 70%. Regular misting or placement in a humidity tray can help maintain moisture.
-
Watering: Keep the substrate consistently moist but not waterlogged. Use distilled or rainwater to prevent mineral buildup.
-
Temperature: Thrives in temperatures between 18°C and 24°C (64°F to 75°F).
-
Soil: Prefers a well-draining, acidic substrate. A mix of sphagnum moss and perlite is suitable.
